Tignes have announced details of their new ‘aerial tramway’ that will open for this winter once the ski area opens.
Unusually, the new lift has two open-top cabins, which offer passengers a unique 360-degree view of the stunning Alps, including views of Mont Blanc, the Cime de Bellecôte and the Aiguille de la Grande Sassière (3747m).
The new aerial tramway is part of an investment project called ALTITUDE EXPERIENCE with EUR17 million budget.
The new lift was designed in Switzerland by Garaventa AG and is equipped with the very latest technology. It has been designed to withstand the tough conditions that you can find at altitudes of over 3000m.
The open-top cabins themselves will only open to the public in May.
